This is a Limited Term Intermittent position and may work at a maximum of 1500 hours per calendar year.
The Climate Change Program Evaluation Branch and Climate Change Program Planning and Management Branch have an opening for Air Resources Technician II, but willing to accept an Air Resources Technician I, to support staff in development and analysis of greenhouse gas emissions reduction programs. The selected candidates will work in an assisting capacity on implementation of the California Cap-and-Trade Program as well as other climate change programs related to the Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006 (AB 32). Duties will include data collection, review, and management; stakeholder interaction and outreach; regulation development; and program implementation.
The successful candidate for this position will have demonstrated the ability to take initiative with regard to assignments, be detail-oriented with the ability to deliver accurate and completed work products. The successful candidate should have demonstrated the ability to communicate clearly and persuasively orally and in writing to defend data and conclusions. The successful candidate should have demonstrated computer skills (including familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point), experience performing scientific or engineering calculations, and knowledge of modern office procedure and practices. The successful candidate should be able to take direction to work independently or in a team setting and have excellent interpersonal skills. The successful candidate should have a history of courteous, professional conduct in the workplace, including dealing with challenging stakeholders and presenting themselves in a professional manner. Experience working and communicating with the public is highly desired. The successful candidate will have the ability to work predictable hours, part time, with reliable attendance. Knowledge of basic air pollution control is desirable.
