Under general supervision, the EPR Disabled Veterans' Outreach Program Specialist (DVOP) will perform the duties as mandated in Public Law (PL) 107-288, Veterans Program Letters (VPL) 07-10, 08-10 and as described in other policy and program directives governing the Jobs For Veterans State Grant. Utilizing a team approach, the EPR will provide intensive services to educationally or ecomically disadvantaged veterans who can reasonably be expected to improve their employability. This position requires travel. The EPR (DVOP) assignment will be full-time permanent.
WHO MAY APPLY: Candidates who are current state employees with status in the above classification, lateral transfers from an equivalent class, or eligible for a Training & Development Assignment, former state employees who can reinstate into the above class or persons who are reachable on a current employment list for the classification. Candidates whose eligibility is based on a state employment list must submit a copy of their examination results, indicating their test score, along with proof that educational requirements have been met. All interested applicants must submit a standard State Application Form STD 678 (with original signature), and must clearly indicate the basis of their eligibility in line item number 12 (explanation) of the STD 678. Applications without eligibility information will not be considered. Appointment is subject to SROA and State surplus policies. Surplus candidates must submit a copy of their surplus status letter. Only the most qualified candidates will be interviewed.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: This is a Disabled Veterans Outreach Program Representative (DVOP) position. Candidate must be a qualified veteran.
