The Staff Services Analyst (SSA) performs:
Under the supervision of the Staff Services Manager I (SSM I), the Staff Services Analyst (SSA) will assist with the less difficult and complex analytical duties involved in the program maintenance and services expansion of the Telemedicine program. The incumbent will assist with coordinating with a variety of health care providers and institutions to organize medical clinics for the purpose of providing access to care (via Telemedicine services) for the patient-inmate population.
45% - Assists with developing, producing, analyzing, processing, and updating changes to program data. Produces program and management reports. Assists with developing performance measurements. Provides guidance and consultation with Finance Letters and Budget Change Proposals. Collects statistics from field medical specialty clinics, analyzes, and produces data reports. Assists with producing needs assessment reports. Coordinates and schedules clinics between providers and institutions.
35% - Assists with developing monitoring systems and reports to evaluate the efficiency of the Telemedicine program. Assists in developing and implementing with the design and development of a new telemedicine patient-inmate scheduling system in order to schedule telemedicine appointments. Develops a scheduling priority matrix for specialty clinics. Assists with developing, monitoring, and maintaining the statewide scheduling calendar for medical specialty clinics. Conducts “Scheduler” training for staff to train them in acting as the primary contact to process medical appointments by priority in multiple medical specialty areas for all thirty-three institutions. Provides mentoring and assists in providing training presentations for new staff. Acts as the primary contact person to confer and disseminate changes in processes, procedures, and scheduled appointments to the field for notification and monitoring of scheduled medical specialty clinics provided via Telemedicine.
15% - Recommends changes and assists with expansion projects and prepares for the implementation of new medical specialty services (provided via Telemedicine). Assists with conducting needs assessment of Specialty Services by institution. Collaborates with Telemedicine staff to develop statewide policies and operating procedures. Provides guidance and consultation in determining what institutional procedures exists that impact the clinical or administrative operation of Telemedicine. Assists, provides guidance, and recommends changes in expanding the Telemedicine Provider Network and Specialty Services. Minimal travel to institutions and Department work locations statewide is required.
5% - Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements (Minimum Qualifications):
Education: Graduation with a Bachelor's degree from a recognized four-year accredited college or university. (Registration as a senior in a recognized institution will admit applicants to the examination, but they must produce evidence of graduation or its equivalent before they can be considered eligible for appointment.
Work experience in the California state service may be substituted for the required education in Pattern I on a year-for-year basis by applicants who have at least six semester or nine quarter units of college level training in public or business administration, accounting, economics, political or social science, English, speech, statistics, law, or a closely related area.
