Job Description:
The Licensing and Certification Program – State Facilities Unit is recruiting for two Health Facilities Manager I (HFEM I) positions located in San Bernardino and Santa Rosa/Redwood Coast.

These positions require the incumbent to maintain consistent and regular attendance; communicate effectively (orally and in writing if both appropriate) in dealing with the public and/or other employees; develop and maintain knowledge and skill related to specific tasks, methodologies, materials, tools and equipment; complete assignments in a timely and efficient manner; and, adhere to departmental policies and procedures regarding attendance, leave, and conduct.

Under the general direction of the Health Facilities Evaluator Manager (HFEM) II, the HFEM I has overall responsibility for overseeing the management, coordination, direction and evaluation of licensing and certification surveys and complaint investigations statewide for state owned and operated health care facilities in the State Facilities Unit (SFU), Field Operations Branch Region V of the Licensing and Certification (L & C) Division. These facilities include the State Developmental Centers, the California Veterans' Homes, Correctional Treatment Centers, State Prisons and State Mental Hospitals. Enforce policy/procedure for the initial and continuing justice department clearances necessary to enter State prisons to conduct surveys and complaint investigations. In addition, the HFEM I must ensure that all staff under his/her supervision is aware and understands the 'no hostage' policy within the California prison system.
