This position is located at Central California Women's Facility (CCWF):

CSFO/CCWF: Under the supervision of the Data Processing Manager II, the Assistant Information Systems Analyst, Specialist (ASST-ISA) will provide assistance and support to all Institution automated information systems. Under direction, performs assigned systems analysis, assists in the coordination of computer systems and operations, and trains users in operation procedures. Confers with the Information Services Department staff in system studies and overall standardization of computer operations, programs and possible liabilities. Performs liaison functions as assigned. Knowledge of electronic data processing equipment and its capabilities, and electronic computer applications. Knowledge of the techniques of computer applications, purchase requisitions and writing operational procedures.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

50% Problem Disruption and Resolutions: Act as first and second level troubleshooter and technical consultant for computing hardware/software. Perform technical duties dealing with trouble shooting of systems as well as the installation and upgrade of equipment and software when necessary. Deliver, set up, and install workstations, including peripherals. Swap out printers, monitors, and other malfunctioning peripherals. Act as second level responder for relatively complex problems or issues involving information technology systems. Refer more complex or serious problems to the Staff Information Systems Analyst for assessment and action. Assistance to other Information Systems Analysts in the daily coordination and support of all computer systems as assigned to include but not limited to Active Directory, Strategic Offender Management System, Business Information System, Distributed Data Processing System, California Law Enforcement Telecommunication System, Offender Based Information System, Enterprise Identity Management System, etc. Coordinate the deployment and maintenance of computer workstations and peripherals, monitoring of the security system, error reconciliation and staff training. Assist in the resolution and analysis of problem areas. Review departmental problem areas. Review departmental procedures and insure data integrity. Communicate with EIS technical staff to escalate technical issues and work effectively with all levels of EIS/Institution staff including external service providers such as SCO & DOJ.

25% Training:

Assist with the ongoing training of systems users in information security awareness and the appropriate program applications. Ensure accountability of users and systems security. Maintain the record keeping relative to computer systems and their users. Responsible for implementation and scheduling of computer training classes for users when requested.

15% Audits and Maintenance:

Assist in audits of all systems for accuracy and approved usage of the computers. Regularly inspect all computer areas for security violations. Work concurrently with other staff in the preventive maintenance program on information systems to reduce downtime. Documents and records movement and installation of IT related equipment into the department’s asset tracking system. Coordinates the audits of all information systems when requested.

5% Procurement: Procurement of computer equipment to include installation. Provides justification of equipment and insures proper utilization. Obtains necessary quotes and documentation from vendors. Creates purchase requisitions when requested in BIS. Provides system maintenance as needed.

5% Performs other IT program support duties as required. Responsible for accurately signing-in and signing-out daily on the 998-A, meeting FLSA laws and rules to ensure no FLSA violations are committed and attaching required documentation for absences to the 998-A. Responsible for accurately signing-in and signing-out daily on the Accountability Log. Responsible for meeting yearly In-Service Training requirements and obtaining On-the-Job Training as needed. Performs other duties as required and appropriate in support of the Information Services Department.

Note: Overtime, traveling, and lifting of equipment up-to 25 pounds is required from time to time.
