Title:  RESEARCH SCIENTIST II (SOCIAL/BEHAVIORAL SCIENCES)

Job Description:
This position is with the CA Home Visiting Program within the Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health Division. In accord with federal mandates for Title V Home Visitation grant and Needs Assessment requirements, identifies and analyzes indicators of maternal health, childrens health, and general family well-being; analyzes data to assist in identifying priority areas for the implementation of Home Visitation programs, and assists in evaluations to identify Home Visitation models with greatest potential effectiveness given local need and capacity. This position will provide technical and analytic support for evaluating California’s Home Visitation program, including implementation of the evaluation plan and conduct of analyses. This position will assist in the development of State level analysis questions and the goals and objectives of these analyses, analyzing data using statistical programs for hypothesis testing, and reporting epidemiologically valid results. This position will serve to coordinate data operation efforts, where indicated, for obtaining data to use in the Home Visitation Needs Assessment, in fulfillment of federal reporting requirements, in analyses for neighborhood level targeting of services, and in allocating resources; and will coordinate with information technology colleagues, where indicated, to ensure functionality of data operations. This position also serves as a research consultant to MCAH program and statewide advisory groups. This position is located in mid-town Sacramento, east of the State Capitol.
