The Department of State Hospitals is currently accepting applications for one permanent half-time Staff Programmer Analyst (Specialist). Do you like to get your hands under the hood of SharePoint and implement custom workflows, collaborations, document management solutions and custom web parts? Do you understand how SharePoint fits into developing web applications using Microsoft and compatible technologies including SharePoint 2010 / 2013, Visual Studio, JavaScript? Would you like to work in a fast-paced, energetic environment, as a self-starter using your abilities as a team member to share and learn new development skills? Extend your skills in an atmosphere with multiple exciting projects! Work closely with the Project Managers, Technical Leads, Business Analysts, and other energetic Developers on a variety of projects. If so, the Department of State Hospitals is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as a SharePoint 2010/2013 Administrator and system integrator in support of State Hospital’s services and programs. The position is at the department’s headquarters in downtown Sacramento, near many major public transportation hubs.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for someone with experience developing web applications using Microsoft and compatible technologies including SharePoint 2010 / 2013 and Visual Studio. Role will be responsible for administration of SharePoint sites, creating new users, apps, and workflows, managing permissions, and troubleshooting user access and training issues. Assures successful application interfaces and communication across diverse technology platforms. Assesses impacts of new or proposed change requests. Clearly defines problems, assess alternatives objectively and collectively reaches a solution to the customer’s satisfaction. Functions as a facilitator in order to ensure common understanding amongst state hospital customers and IT developers. Responsible for analysis, programming, testing, documentation, implementation and customer acceptance/satisfaction.

REQUIRED SKILLS

Individual should be highly motivated, independent information technology professional who possesses excellent analytical and problem resolution skills as well as proficient in writing, writing technical documents, excels at customer service and communication, ASP.Net or C#.Net development experience, HTML5, JavaScript / jQuery, CSS3 and basic web design, usability and layout, excellent customer service and team player, technical writing skills.

DESIREABLE SKILLS

Adobe Photoshop and Dreamweaver (Illustrator and Fireworks a plus), SharePoint User Administration, DOS/PowerShell scripting, SharePoint 2010 Object Model Development experience, SharePoint 2010 User experience, Workflow development using SharePoint Designer and/or Visual Studio, experience with SDLC (software development lifecycle), XHTML, XSLT
