DUTIES

Under the direction of the Supervising Management Auditor, Audits and Investigations Division, the Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) performs duties relating to fiscal monitoring programs. The AGPA is required to understand the area of school district accounting, budgeting, and reporting policies and procedures, and how these relate to and affect the delivery of education programs and services to children.

  • Perform online fiscal monitoring reviews of local educational agencies (LEA) in conjunction with the federal program monitoring process utilizing the California
  • Accountability and Improvement System (CAIS). Provide technical assistance, as needed, to LEA fiscal staff on the use of federal categorical funding.
  • Advise and assist LEAs receiving federal funds in strengthening and improving fiscal management practices in the area of budgeting, allowable costs, and reporting.
  • Assist in developing and presenting training to LEAs and CDE program staff to provide technical assistance in the area of fiscal regulatory requirements for entities receiving state and federal funding.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining audit documentation for child development limited scope reviews. Prepare written analyses and recommendations to management based on audit recommendations and corrective action. Advise and assist organizations receiving child development funds in strengthening and improving fiscal management practices in the area of budgeting, allowable costs, and reporting.
  • Participates in regularly scheduled meetings with management and others to keep staff apprised of projects and potential problems, making recommendations as necessary.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.

  • Experience utilizing Microsoft Word and Excel
